DIGLET
Sometimes, said Pooh, “the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.”
Prepare to have your mind blown. ….ready? Did you know Piglet, a beloved character from Winnie the Pooh, is not a pig at all? He is in fact, an armadillo. This is a hotly debated topic, but not at Turner the Page. Just imagine Diglet here standing up on his hind legs and saying sweet things to you. Can you see it now? Of course you can. This armadillo easily earned his name, not only due to his cousin Piglet, but because of his behavior. Diglet is the busiest digger on the Gulf Coast. For whatever reason, the choice armadillo treats must lay in the Turner the Page grass, because this is where Diglet does his best work. You can spot him near the edges of the grass in the summer around dusk through the night until the early morning hours, and in winter during the day. During the rare times we have a cold front where the temperature drops below around 50 degrees, Diglet will stay in his burrow until the air warms.
