MAMA
mama: i’m coming home
One May, before they could be caught to be fixed, Mufasa and his queen had a litter of kittens. The kittens names, the “Nina”, the “Pint Size”, and the “Santa Mario” (because he’s a boy). Nina you can read about as she lives at Turner the Page to this day, but her brothers went on to make a little girls’ cat dreams come true. When those kittens were born, Miss K immediately remembered that old rhyme, “April showers bring May flowers”. Only in this case, it was “April showers brought the Mayflowers”. …leading to a play on the three ships, the Nina, the Pinta, and the Santa Maria. So technically, her name is “April”, but “Mama Bear” just became much more fitting, as she takes her motherly duties very seriously. Mama is the true queen of Mufasa’s realm in such amazing ways, as even after both were fixed, to this day they are inseparable. They eat together, sleep together, play together. Like the other 3 cats at Turner the Page, these days Mama does not hunt around the property or bask in the sun outside. Instead, she lays in the air conditioned house, basks in the morning sun coming through the East windows, and gets fatter and happier every day, eating, sleeping and playing to her heart’s content. …and Miss K and Shawn are so very thankful to Mama, because although they both said after Miss Rio passed, they would not have any pets for a time, Mama had different plans and said “I’m coming home, and I’m bringing my king and our babies”. …and that she did. Thank you Mama, for you, Mufasa, Nina and Lafitte.
