MR. SATCH’S FINAL FULL DAY

Oh, South Louisiana, I do adore thee. Thank you Lord for this quiet bayou side life and a calm, serene, and peaceful place to be with a dear friend as he leaves this life.

It is both a sad time, yet an introspective and sweet time at Turner the Page these past few days.

Mr. Satch of The Satch Chronicles is spending his last couple days on the earth with us. Nearly 17 years old, he has seen and experienced a beautifully fulfilling and exciting life indeed.

As Satch’s time quickly approaches we are keeping him comfortable and calm, and are reminded of this truth:

“It is better to go to a house of mourning

Than to go to a house of feasting,

Because that is the end of every person,

And the living takes it to heart.

Sorrow is better than laughter,

For when a face is sad a heart may be happy.

The mind of the wise is in the house of mourning,

While the mind of fools is in the house of pleasure.” -Ecc. 7:2-4

It is sweet indeed to know in the midst of circumstance, there is always a much deeper and greater truth to be held. It is a very sweet thing to get to realize BEFORE the passing of those we love.

Thank you Lord for perspective. Thank you Lord for the greatest peace there is. Thank you Lord for the wisdom we’ve been given through this little guy’s life.

Thank you Mr. Satch for nearly 17 years of adventure, honor, and love.

Much love from down the bayou, mes amis.
