the LADY IN RED, is dancing with me

Red has such magnificent coloring, so bright and lively and beautiful, he could not possibly have any other name than “Red”. He’s never far from his bride, Miss Red. She’s also sometimes a little misunderstood or easy to misread, so her name fits nicely as well. When you first come into her presence, you’ll know right away how special she is. These two especially in summer are some of the first bird sounds you’ll hear in the morning. You’ll also see them on the sides of the grass in the brush, and visiting the bird feeder throughout the day, displaying their amazing unique gliding motion. Did you know cardinals can get to know human voices and distinguish between them? This is why Miss K and Shawn are always talking to Red and Miss Red. When you see their crests up, they are on alert. If their crests are laying down, they are calm and not sensing any danger. You should talk to them, too. Perhaps they’ll get to know you, as well. Many people believe when cardinals appear, it is a sign of loved ones who are no longer with us, bringing encouragement, and offering love and peace to those left behind.
